New Additions to keyboard shortcuts 💻

We've released a bunch of new enhancements to keyboard shortcuts in Venue Manager to save you even more time. 

Earlier this year, we introduced some great time-saving keyboard shortcuts to enable you to instantly access frequently used features and pages in Venue Manager. Now we’ve added further enhancements so that your fingers never need to leave the keyboard. 

You can now use the up and down keys to navigate through search results, ENTER to select a result and ESC to close the panel. These same keys and new behaviours also help when switching venues to scroll and select venues in the list and close the panel 

We’ve also enhanced the search experience by pre-selecting this search text when returning to the search panel so that you can immediately enter a new search term!

Prevent membership churn with WorldPay Account Updater

We’ve integrated Worldpay’s account updater service with ROLLER to optimise recurring revenue collection and prevent involuntary membership churn.

WorldPay’s Account Updater service is executed when a recurring payment fails reasons such as Expired card, Lost or Stolen card, the ROLLER platform will request updated card information from the card provider via Account Updater.

The card schemes will update the card data stored in WorldPay automatically without guest interaction and improve the success of processing recurring payments.

If you're using WorldPay you will need to contact WorldPay to have the Account Updater service activated on your merchant account.

Enhanced recurring payment collection logic 💰💰💰

This new retry logic and enhancements will improve revenue recovery of recurring payments and prevent involuntary membership churn.

Each time a recurring membership renews, ROLLER automatically attempts to collect payment and when a payment fails the platform commences a process known as dunning to collect this outstanding payment. 

We’ve researched over 12 months of recurring payment data to identify patterns to optimise the collection of your recurring revenue. When the first recurring payment collection fails, the process will now retry the payment 4 times, including frequent payroll and credit card settlement dates.

Additionally, we will suspend the membership earlier than the previous process whilst still attempting to collect payment in the background. If the guest visits the venue after the 2nd collection attempt has failed and their membership is suspended, staff can collect payment immediately to end the dunning process and restore the recurring payment membership to an active state.

Staff onboarding just got easier!

We’re happy to announce a number of enhancements to creating and managing staff records.

You can invite existing users that already use ROLLER to your venue now. Previously this required ROLLER support assistance.

We've also optimised the creation process and improved security by removing the password field and automatically assigned a POS pin to make the process of creating a new staff member faster. Staff will receive an updated welcome email and clicking the activate link allows them to set their password and provide their contact number.

For added security, the activation link expires after 24 hours and staff must complete this activation process before they will be able to access your venue in ROLLER.

In Venue Manager, we have added icons to the All Staff pages to clearly illustrate which staff members are assigned to the account holder, main contact and billing contact roles. If you’re an account holder you can also quickly add and remove these contact roles as well.

Platform updates, enhancements & fixes

The following updates, enhancements and fixes have been deployed:

Reporting

  • Attendance and Revenue - Resolved an issue where the product reporting name column was missing from the Attendance Report and Revenue Report
  • Bookings - Resolved an issue where the Bookings report didn't have the email address column
  • Attendance - Fixed an issue where the attendance report export did not export the redemption count

Payments 

  • Design - Fixed an issue where ROLLER Pay display configuration was not correct
  • Bookings - Fixed an issue where two bookings were created from some online ROLLER payments with the same payment reference
  • Payment method modal - Fixed an issue where the no payment method required screen displayed code

Other Items

  • Online checkout - Resolved an issue where time slots selected on online checkout were blocking out different times for that same day in ROLLER
  • Bookings- Fixed an issue where Bookings were being assigned to incorrect locations
  • CSV - Fixed an issue where we were unable to open CSV with Korean Characters
  • Feature Plans - Resolved an issue where you couldn't create stock on Lite subscription
  • Forms - Fixed an issue where form responses could not be submitted due to ReCaptcha showing errors
  • POS- Fixed an issue where POS was only charging for one Recurring Pass session unless the calendar date was changed to a future date first
  • Daily Capacity - Fixed an issue where the daily capacity redemption view was showing fully redeemed when some tickets haven't been redeemed. 
  • Sessions - Fixed an issue where editing an existing recurring session product irreversibly converted to a session type product
  • Locations - Resolved an issue where locations were showing as unavailable, but could still be booked
  • Online Booking- Resolved an issue where a successful ROLLER Payment in the online checkout did not create a booking
  • Wallets- Resolved an issue where partially refunding Wallets using the Refund Balance button caused the booking cost to go down by the full amount instead 
  • POS - Fixed an issue where there were duplicate bookings at POS caused by partial payments

Cash Reporting just got easier 🙌

 We've simplified reporting for venues reporting on a cash basis!

The cash accounting method recognizes revenue when funds are received whilst accrual accounting recognises it based on the day it is earned such as a redemption or expiration. Therefore, cash accounting does not record deferred revenue.

Venues that adopt the cash accounting basis can now access a simplified view of report data. To make the update head to Venue Manager > Settings > Venue settings > accrual vs cash toggle. 

Activating this setting modifies the report to remove accrual accounting data such as deferred revenue and replaces it with data relevant to cash accounting. 

We’ve also improved terminology across grids, metrics, and exports and optimising the exported column names to make it easier for venues to find data they are looking for.

Standard passes are now available on self-serve kiosk 👏

Self Serve Kiosks are a service platform guests love to utilise and a great tool for parks to improve efficiency, reduce labour costs and increase revenue.

To ensure you are getting the maximum use out of self-serve kiosks you can now sell standard pass products. 


Setting up the self-serve kiosk to sell standard passes is simple and can be done from the self-serve kiosk page in Venue Manager.

New addition to ROLLER Payments 💳

We've updated the capture of recurring membership payment details for venues using ROLLER Payments.

Venues no longer need to manually enter card information when capturing a debit/credit card and creating a recurring membership token at POS. A token will be automatically captured via the guest's authorisation at the payment terminal, creating a vastly quicker and more accurate process. 

This enhancement is available to all venues using Adyen and ROLLER Payments. To find out more see our guide.
